Responsibilities
As an API 653 Inspector at Square Robot, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive tank inspections, ensuring adherence to industry standards, and mentoring future employees. Your responsibilities will include:
- Adherence to Standards: Maintain the highest standards of safety and quality in all inspection activities.
- API 653 Inspections: Conduct API 653 inspections in accordance with relevant guidelines and customer requirements.
- Documentation: Accurately document project progress and inspection-related activities on a daily basis.
- Report Writing: Prepare detailed inspection recommendations and reports.
- Customer Interaction: Interact with customers professionally and effectively.
Training and Mentoring: Train and mentor future employees in basic NDT, API 653, and basic robot operations. - Compliance: Complete all required training, testing, paperwork, and forms as per Company guidelines.
- Work Conditions: Work both indoors and outdoors in various environments, including confined spaces and high noise areas.
- Safety: Wear all required PPE and adhere to safety protocols.
- Travel: Be willing to travel extensively (75%+), as required for project assignments.
- Physical Requirements: Safely handle substantial weight (up to 50 lbs) and climb exterior staircases to heights of 70+ feet.
- Leadership: Demonstrate a history of leadership and mentorship.
qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or Degree.
- Current API 653 Certification.
- Current or ability to obtain a TWIC card.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Extensive travel is required.
- Ability to meet physical demands of the role.
- Demonstrated history of leadership and mentorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- API 510 and API 570 Certifications.
- 5 years of API 653 inspection experience.
- Level II UT, MT, and PT Certifications.
- Familiarity with Robotic In-Service Tank Inspections.
- Work Environment:
Position is based out of our Houston, TX office with 75% domestic/international travel.
Projects may require outdoor work in plants and terminals.
May involve working in confined spaces and high noise areas.
Compliance with all Square Robot and customer-required PPE is mandatory.
Willingness to tolerate varying weather conditions.
