JOB Description

The Manager of Business Development is a member of the Sales and Marketing Team (SMT) and, as such, is directly engaged with developing new business for the company. Specifically the Manager of Business Development is primarily focused on growing sales and the sales pipeline through proactive sales exploration, growing our accessible known market and detailed, up to date market intelligence.

The ideal candidate will lead initiatives to generate and build business with large, complex, global accounts in the refining, midstream, and chemical industry. The successful candidate demonstrates a hunter mentality with a proven track record of introducing new, transformational technology, penetrating accounts to deliver on key milestones, and successfully closing large service contracts. They will be focused and have strong communication skills. They should be able to think critically when making plans and have a demonstrated ability to execute a particular strategy.


  • Drive sales to new customers and support existing business
  • Identify and develop partnership opportunities
  • Successfully drive sales through large, complex customer organizations
  • Target and close on key customer milestones and deliverables
  • Think critically and innovatively when planning to assure project success
  • Close service contracts with key accounts
  • Develop new relationships to grow business and help company expand
  • Provide market side input to the New Product Development process
  • Actively monitor and document market , client activity , trends and competitor developments and performance


  • Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Independent, proactive, with keen attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing environments.

Key Deliverables:

  • Key milestones required to advance technology and commercial acceptance within key accounts
  • Timely progress and conversion of opportunities within the Sales Pipeline
  • Target revenue from key accounts
  • Weekly (minimum) updates to Key Account and Sales Pipeline
  • Key Account Plans proactively managed and reported quarterly


This position is available for full-time, on-site work at Square Robot’s office based in Houston, TX.

Language Skills

The candidate should be able to read, analyze, and write documents, such as policy and procedures, presentations, and other related documents.  Fluency in English is required.
