PROJECT SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST

FULL-TIME, MARLBOROUGH, MA

Square Robot is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial management of various projects within the organization. The Project Senior Financial Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, analyze project costs, and provide valuable insights to optimize project financial performance. The position reports to the Chief Financial Officer. This is a Marlborough MA-based position, with some working from home flexibility to be discussed at the time of hire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed financial analysis of budgets, expenses, and forecasts.
  • Identify and analyze variances between budgeted and actual project costs.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for cost-saving measures and process improvements.
  • Conduct market research and surveys that support new product development strategies and industry requirements.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of corporate budgets.
  • Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets and communicate any deviations.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate and timely budget submissions.
  • Prepare regular financial reports for project stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators.
  • Generate ad-hoc financial reports as required to support decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and internal policies.
  • Partner with project managers, sales, and other departments to gather necessary financial data.

required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a financial analyst, preferably in a project-based environment.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management software.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

BONUS qualifications

  • Experience with Quickbooks Online.

Language Skills

The candidate should be able to read, analyze, and write documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, financial statements, and other related documents.  Fluency in English is required.
